Q: Do you allow pets?
A: No I no longer allow pets.   I had several bad experiences with negligent pet owners.  Also since I have brand new carpet, I am trying to keep it like new as long as I can.

Q: How are the roads?
A: The roads on the mountain are gravel and in good shape.  I would NOT recommend using a 'lowered/low profile car'.  Two wheel drive cars or trucks are fine except in extreme weather.

Q: Can I hunt or target practice with a gun / rifle.
A: No, you can't.   There is no hunting on the mountain.  Also while 4 acres sounds like a lot, its not when it comes to shooting.   I am a lifetime NRA member so it has nothing to do with gun control. Its all about the safety and consideration for my neighbors in the distance.

Q: Is the cabin secluded?
A: Yes, you are on almost 4 acres of wooded property on the western side of the Massanutten mountain range. In the winter you can see other cabins on nearby properties.

Q: Are linens provided?
A: Yes! Bed linens, towels and washcloths are all provided!

Q: Is there Internet?
A: Yes! We offer free Wi-Fi to our guests. (Strong Verizon & AT&T 4G signals too, not sure about other carriers)

Q: What are the sleeping arrangements?
A: 2 Bedrooms, 1 with queen bed, other with 2 SETS of bunk beds. Also, couch is a sleeper sofa.

Q: What do I need to bring?
A: Soap, Charcoal for grille, Drinking water (for cooking too)(water in the area has a high iron content, some people don't like its taste), FOOD, ICE, camera!

Q: Is there a phone?
A: Yes, you can make calls in the local area, and of course receive calls. Please use your calling card for long distance though.

Q: Is there running water?
A: Yes of course. This is not a 'roughing it' kind of place. I like to chill out with all the comforts of home! Running water, bathtub, shower, toilet, hot water on demand (you won't run out of hot water).

Q: Can I have a campfire?
A: Unfortunately no. There is too much risk of a forest fire. However you can build a fire in the fireplace when its cold out and you can always cook on the charcoal grille on the back deck.

Q: How far is the cabin from 'civilization'?
A: You are isolated but a 10 minute drive puts you back where there is food, stores and real people.

Q: How far is the cabin from Skyline Drive?
A: About 35 minutes to the Panorama entrance.

Q: How far to a grocery store?
A: 10 minutes to basic shopping, 20 minutes the Mt Jackson Food Lion ABC (Liquor store), 20 minutes to Timberville Walmart, Food Lion, ABC (Liquor Store)

Q: Where are the closest caverns.
A: About 10 minutes south is Endless Caverns, 15 minutes north to Shenandoah Caverns.

Q: Are there nearby trails?
A: There are no marked trails, but there are a lot of deer trails and some abandoned logging roads on the mountain. Be careful during hunting season!  Its a short drive to Shenandoah National Park and George Washington National Forest.

Q: Is there a stream nearby?
A: No, the cabin is on the side of a mountain and not near a stream. During wet times there are streams in the distance that get going pretty well, but are dry in the summer.

Q: Do you have satellite TV?  A: No, perhaps this cabin is not a good fit for you.

Q: Do you have 800+ thread count sheets? A: No, perhaps this cabin is not a good fit for you.
