A: Yes, you can make calls in the local area, and of course receive calls. Please use your calling card for long distance though.

A: Yes of course. This is not a 'roughing it' kind of place. I like to chill out with all the comforts of home! Running water, bathtub, shower, toilet, hot water on demand (you wont run out of hot water).
Q: Can I have a campfire?
A: Unfortunately no. There is too much risk of a forest fire. However you can build a fire in the fireplace when its cold out and you can always cook on the charcoal grille on the back deck.
Q: How far is the cabin from 'civilization'?
A: You are isolated but a 10 minute drive puts you back where there is food, stores and real people.

A: About 35 minutes to the Panorama entrance.
Q: How far to a grocery store?
A: 10 minutes to basic shopping, 20 minutes the Mt Jackson Food Lion.
Q: Where are the closest caverns.
A: About 10 minutes south is Endless Caverns, 15 minutes north to Shenandoah Caverns. (My favorite is Endless)
Q: Are there nearby trails?
A: There are no marked trails, but there are a lot of deer trails and some abandoned logging roads on the mountain. Be careful during hunting season!
Q: Is there a stream nearby?
A: No, the cabin is on the side of a mountain and not near a stream. During wet times there are streams in the distance that get going pretty well, but are dry in the summer.
